The practice of basic techniques. Usually it is the outward form of the techniques that is being taught or assessed and corrected.
The practice of kihon is not necessarily the practice of kihon kata, and yet all kihon is kata. If that doesn't make sense then we have to make sure that we have an understanding of what is meant by kihon and what is meant by kata. You can read more about kata in the kata section.
